MARCH 16th UPDATE: Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are postponing all public events at this time. If safe to do so, we will schedule new Open House events for trying sprint canoe and kayak in May and June. Please contact us if you wish to be notified about these events in the future. Thank you!
Come learn about sprint canoe and kayak! We’re having an “open house” over three Saturdays in March – the 7th, 14th, and 28th. (NOT on the 21st — sorry, we’ll be away that weekend.)
From 9:30am to 11:30am, we’ll have our boats down at the Public Launch Docks in the Ventura Harbor and teaching about the sport along with water safety. All minors 12 and over, and adults are welcome to give our Olympic boats a try. *You must be able to swim 100 yards for safety reasons.*
We will provide life jackets, paddles, and boats. Please be ready to get wet — our boats are unstable and beginners should expect to fall in a few times for sure. To cover our liability insurance, we charge $5 for one or all of the Saturday sessions.
Please review and sign appropriate liability waivers found on the Join Us page of our site before coming to an open house session. This will speed things along as well as help us know how many people we might expect.
If you have any questions, please reach out to us — we hope to see you at the docks!
DIRECTIONS:
- Take Harbor Blvd to Schooner Drive.
- Turn right on Anchors Way.
- Just after the new development in the Harbor, on your left will be the public docks with parking for cars near a public restroom. You’ll see our trailer and boats there.
