The few members of VOCC are ready to go to the 2018 Nationals in August. The races will be in Oklahoma City again, making it the third time in the past 5 years that the regatta has been hosted there.
VOCC will be driving out and has reserved an AirBNB in a nice part of the town near a Whole Foods market and relatively close to the race course. One good thing about going to OKC frequently is getting to know the area well. It’s roughly 24 hours of driving to get to from Ventura to OKC and we’ll cover this in two and a half days on the way out, and perhaps two days on the way back.
Since the club has not yet actively recruited young paddlers, we also won’t be staying for the end of regatta banquet. After four days of racing, the older team members are ready to return to their homes and many need to also return to their jobs. The banquet tends to be for the younger crowd.
